pallasis fish eagle
The pallasis fish eagle is also known as the pallasis sea eagle. It was discovered by peter simon pallas in 1771. It has a light sandy brown hood and a whitish face. It takes four years to obtain adult plumage. The diet is mainly fresh water fish, they also prey on birds specially water birds and also frogs mammals reptiles. They are also known to attack quite large water birds, like greylag geese bar headed geese and demoiselle crane, since the greylag geese is heavier than the eagle, this is one of the greatest weight lifting feats ever recorded for a flying bird. Another case of lifting great load was recorded at the Yamuna river in north central India where an eagle captured a huge carp. The breeding season is mainly from November to march , The nest consists of large sticks with green leaves, incubation period is 45 days, both parents build the nest and take care of the chicks
