White Rumped Shama It is a small bird from the thrust family, it is normally seen in western ghats and parts of southern India. The male is glossy black with chestnut belly and white feathers on the rump and the outer tail females are greyish brown and shorter then the males. The breeding season is from April to June the clutch consists of 4 to 5 eggs in a nest placed in a hollow tree. The nest is built by the female while the male stands as guard, the nest is made of roots, leaves, ferns and stems, incubation period is 15 days. Both parents feed the young.
