Sally Breasted Munia
This bird has a beautiful black colour large bill, it also has a dark chestnut face that fades into rufous brown nape and upper parts. It has white under parts with bold black scaling the centre of the belly is clear and vent is buffiish yellow. The juvenile is fresh brown overall with pale under parts. Interestingly just like other munias the male gets the female a feather, a twig or a grass blade as a present before courtship display. It often nest in gardens. It loosely constructs a grass ball with one side open and lays four to five eggs. Incubation period is 10 to 16 days.
