Indian Grey Hornbill

The Indian grey hornbill is a medium size hornbill, the male has a larger casque on a large bill and the lower mandible are yellowish. The female has a more yellowish bill with a black basal half on the casque. This hornbill is very common al over india . The nesting season is from April to June the clutch varies from one to five eggs which are white. They usually nest in tree hollows on tall trees, leaving a small vertical slit through which the male feeds her. The nest entrance is sealed by the female using its excretra and mud pellets supplied by the male. While inside the nest the female moults her flight feathers and incubates the eggs.
