Cattle egret
These birds are known to wear long elegant plumes as well as a blush during courtship in breeding season. The name egret comes from a French word which mean brush a reference to its plumes. Most egrets are social and can be found mingling freely in colonies but can sometimes be spotted fishing. The cattle egret is small and sturdy egret it has a large head short yellow bill and short legs. It has a bright orange neck and mantle. The non breeding adult is all white. A common bird in semi urban and rural settings. It can be seen walking in grass areas.
