Golden Pheasant
It is also known as the Chinese pheasant or rainbow pheasant. It is found in western china and is a symbol of good luck when one seas when one seas this bird. In china golden pheasant have been kept for over 300 years. The females and the young ones are not as colorful as the male, infact the male only develops the color when it is two years old. They are often seen in pairs. This bird is not like other birds. They mate with each other for life. Like the peacock the male opens its feathers to start dancing inviting the female to have sex. The golden pheasant lays 8 to 12 eggs incubation period is 22-23 days. The food consists of seeds, soots, barriers and insects. This bird is veryprotective. If exposed to much sunlight the color will fade.
