Himalayan vulture

Birds can live on earth even if there is no man, but man cannot live without birds, I say this because it is a wake up call for human being in the morning when the birds give a chirping sound but sadly some of the birds are declining one of them is the Himalayan vulture. Birds are integral part of the whole system of life on earth. They are also necessary in the same way that soil and plants and animals are necessary. The Himalayan vulture is the oldest and the tallest vulture. It is heavily built, it is also the most aggressive feeder. It is pale buff and grey in color with black flight feathers and tail. The feet are yellowish and pale feathers come out in streak around the neck and shoulders. I have had the priviledge of seeing this vulture in assam at kaziranga park what impressed me was the greyish silver bill and the size which is about 125 cms in length. Voice is like variety of grunt and hisses. When in air current is suitable takes to the air and soars over mountains at great heights and often for long distance, aggressive when breeding and dominates over all other vultures.
