Las Marietas islands or Tres Marietas islands are a group of small uninhabited islands in the state of Nayarit a few miles of Punta de Mita and Nuevo Vallarta , Nayarit, Mexico . They are popular tourist destinations because abundant marine life because the islands are protected from fishing and hunting by the Mexican government . The most famous and visited the islands point is Playa Escondida , also known as Playa Hide or Hidden Beach
