Caligula Rock
Desert landscape and rugged rock formation under stormy clouds near Hanksville, Utah (USA). HDR composite from multiple exposures. In the absence of finding an official name, I chose the fictional title Caligula Rock as it reminds me of an abstract boot shape. Caligula meaning "little boot" in Latin, standing rather small in comparison to other formations nearby like the named Kathline Rock (outside the camera frame). Caligula also being the nickname of an ancient Roman emperor, I feel a sense of majestic awe when looking at these eroded rocks no matter how large or small.
