Decapitation Trail
Wooded spring trail located just outside Stirling Castle, Scotland (UK). HDR composite from multiple exposures. Upon closer inspection, you might notice some rather distinct wood sculptures featuring an executioner with an axe standing near a decapitated person still posed in kneeling position. From the plaque nearby, I believe the sculptures commemorate John Baird and Andrew Hardie as Scottish martyrs in the Radical War of 1820.
